Manhattan is for Modelizers

Play "All the Angels"

I met my first modelizer yesterday, which immediately made me want to race home and rewatch "Sex and the City." But first I had to finish my too-strong cranberry and vodka and chase it with ginger ale and a well-timed hair flick.

Meanwhile, I've been talking with more people about the choice to live in New York. The themes remain the same. Almost everything you could like is here — one guy called it "a playground for adults."

The city feeds off of — and thrives because of — the energy of its inhabitants who come from all over to say they live in the greatest city in the world. (My own jury is still out on that.)

Walk a few blocks and you'll hear at least a half-dozen languages — which adds to the allure for a lot of folks, including the modelizer.

Now if only I could find someone like Derek "The Bone" to hang out with. And no, the nickname is not referring to what you're thinking.
