Who knew that in just a few years a person could accumulate a lifetime's worth of stuff? If you were given a week to kiss most of it goodbye, how would you do it?
My closest friends who've have to abandon one city for another have offered advice using words I usually reserve for punishment:
1. Be ruthless and unsentimental.
2. Shed posssessions 'til it hurts, then shed some more.
3. Keep only what is too costly to replace, and even then, ask if you really need it.
My escape from the city started less than a week ago, and it looks like a tornado has torn through my home, which means I still have more to get rid of. Oh boy.
And drat! My Macworld badge just arrived. Guess I won't need that either ... although ... hmm.... No one said I couldn't be, erhm, crafty.
